After early-morning arrest, Lady Leshurr charged with assault

The rapper and broadcaster of BBC Radio 1Xtra was detained on Saturday and will appear in court on Monday
Following a confrontation on Saturday in Walthamstow, northeast London, Lady Leshurr has been charged with assault.
Melesha O’Garro, a rapper, presenter of BBC Radio 1Xtra, and participant on Dancing on Ice in 2021, were apprehended by police about 5 a.m. on Saturday and charged with two charges of assault causing actual bodily injury. According to Sky, two women, both 27 years old, were admitted to the hospital after the incident and have since been released. A third lady, 28, was charged with assault resulting in real bodily injury. The 28-year-old and Lady Leshurr are scheduled to appear in court at Thames magistrates.
With Queen’s Speech, a collection of well-liked YouTube freestyles, Lady Leshurr initially became well-known in the middle of the 2010s. Since then, she has worked with musicians including Nicki Minaj, Little Mix’s Will.I.Am, Wiley, and the Black Eyed Peas. She received a British Empire Medal (BEM) in 2020 as part of the birthday honors.
Lady Leshurr has gained some notoriety outside of the music industry by starring in an advertisement for the cosmetics company Olay, making appearances on the ITV panel program Loose Women, and competing in the fourth place round of Dancing on Ice. Since late 2020, Lady Leshurr has hosted Saturday afternoons on BBC Radio 1Xtra.
