It’s easy to pick up guitar songs by listening fast. What happens though is that you lose some of the nuances of the music. You hear the vocals as separate pieces instead of hearing them as one continuous voice, or you miss important parts of the bass line because you are speeding through the notes too quickly.

These chords both start with a tonic (root) note, but then lack the second tone (third) and final tone (fifth) which makes them feel strange. Technically speaking, they aren’t really sus chords since there isn’t a lower degree floating around.
