Luckily, there are only five basic chords that everyone needs to know how to play. These are the “power” chords: C Major, A Minor, G Sharp Minor, F# Minor, and D Sharp Minor.

You do not need to know how to play all of these chords to call yourself a guitarist, but it will help you develop your skills more quickly by knowing at least one of each!
